Negative Recommendation letter for Designing Jobs

To write a negative recommendation letter for designing jobs can be quite a difficult task for the former employer. Though such type of cover letters for negative recommendation is uncommon, the fact is that they do exist. If such letters are sent to the employers, where the candidate is trying to make an entry, it can be a great obstacle. In fact, it is a horrible dream come true for the applicant.

Not every person would be ready to draft a cover letter for negative recommendation for designing jobs. One needs to be very careful while writing a negative recommendation letter for designing jobs. There may have been a situation in the past wherein the employee may have had some kind of conflict. But the writer should be able to separate their personal and professional life.

A recommender needs to convey the honest and factual information about the applicant. They should clearly state the negative characteristics that have affected the organization. They should try to strike a balance in the letter by pointing out some positive traits of that person as no person is perfect. Sometimes they may even suggest that though the candidate is not fit for that particular job, he can be considered for some other job. Apologize to the reader for not being able to provide a positive feedback. The recommender should make sure that they are available to provide any other details if needed.

Dear Ms. Johnson,

This letter is in response to your request for the work history of Ms. Shirley J. Gillmore. She was working with us as a senior interior designer from February 15, 2011 to December 24, 2011. She was terminated due to her unprofessional behavior.

We had great expectations from Ms. Gillmore as she had a vast experience in interior designing. But she did not take her job seriously. We tried to retrain her and also counseled her on several occasions. But she continued her casual approach in spite of giving repeated warnings. In one or two instances she was found to use the material of the company for her personal use which was against the company’s rules and regulations. We lost some of our prestigious clients due to her unprofessional attitude.

I would not suggest that you hire Ms. Shirley Gillmore as an interior designer. Thank you for the time and consideration. Please feel free to contact me on my phone number if you require any other details.

Yours sincerely,

Signature
Debra Villareal
